I was happy to jump in and obtain a card from
for her Valentine challenge.
She embossed an array of designs and lets us choose
which one we wanted to work with.
I love the jewelry challenges but sometimes
it's fun to switch it up a bit.
I made a heart shaped cut and
backed the textured page with solid pink.
I then layered it with a lovely Martha Stewart
sticker. I also added a sticker to my envelope.
Easy peasy.

A Happy Valentines Day to everyone who stops by to say "Hello" ! This is one of my vintage postcards which I love because it's in such non Valentine colors. Lets talk display!
Once I started uploading jewelry to Etsy I realized I would probably need to dip my toe into craft/ jewelry shows to really get the most out of my sales. I started looking for display - cheap display - to add some professionalism and a little tantalizing eye candy to a table. These shadow boxes I was pretty excited to get my hands on. Originally around 9.99 they went on clearance - I waited until they hit 1.99 each and took them home. Of course by that time there were only 2 left but I was happy to get them. In case you haven't looked into purchasing jewelry displays - they can be pretty expensive. Hunting around for less expensive alternatives can be fun and makes you stand out in a crowd.
Imagine my ridiculous happiness at finding these at TJMaxx this weekend for 12.99 each! I really wanted boxes for items at the front of the table. It's awful to think about it but I've had things stolen at a garage sale ( who does that?). The thought of having some jewelry lifted from the table makesme really sad. Now they have a safe little cubby to hang out in. Discounters like TJMaxx, Marshalls and Christmas Tree Shops are great resources of display items - and usually quite affordable.
Of course the occasional stray frame will work wonders with a mere
piece of stray fabric inserted to offset your jewelry. I would like to use a few of these at the back of my display. How many frames can you pick up at garage sales ? Keep your eyes open and you can find display gold! All of these ideas also work for you non jewelry makers displaying that jewelry or collection at home.

Dreaming of Spring I added a few more goodies to my Etsy shop. Morning glories are one of my most favorite flowers. They are impossible to put in a bouquet so I made a tiny vine of them from these very small Czech glass buds. I love all the old fashioned blooms ..... roses too!
These Mother of Pearl carved roses are another favorite. They have a beautiful sheen and a nod to vintage bling. Here I paired them with rhodolite garnet which has a pink/magenta tint to it and some variegated pink colored Czech glass roundels.
Of course I'm feeling the love for hearts with Valentines Day around the corner. I remade my Hearts on Fire with two juicy pomegranate colored Murano hearts.
I'm off to play with antiquing Lola and playing with stones. have a great sunday - What will you be playing with?
