Tickle Me Tuesday - 3/27/12

 

 

I treated myself to an inspirational kit from

SLArtisanAccents

Holy Crow is this gorgeous!

Staci makes these beautiful accents

and was featured in the Spring edition of

Belle Armoire Jewelry Magazine

 

 

Which - if you are into handmade jewelry

will cause your pupils to dialate

and your head to feel giddy!

It's chocked FULL of gorgeousness!!!

I also just recieved some lovelies from

THEAtoo

 

 

Sweet little handmade bronze charms

which do nicely compliment the 

butterfly focal up there.....hmmmm.

Tickle Me Tuesday 3/13/12

 

 

I had a wonderful party at a local home

last week and I know some of you were asking for photos.

It was a little dark but I was happy

to be able to have options .

My pop up display I made last week

went flat so it wouldn't block the light!

 

 

It worked so I am happy I

didn't permenently attach anything.

I tried to use my boxes to lift everything up to eye level

so it would be easier to see.

I am finishing up this display -

remember my easel for 9.99???

 

 

A little sloppy spray paint, book paper

 and a glue stick.

Now I have a vintage easel!

 

 

The thing I really love about this is

each of the boards has 2 sides.

I probably won't touch the black board

other then to put my name or 'Welcome" -

but I can do different papers on each of

the other sides to switch it up a bit!

 

 

I love the tray at the bottom too.

I have an idea for a ring holder down there....

or maybe a card holder under the black board. 

Here's my home set up.

 

 

I have a spot for more necklaces

and another for silver.

 

 

I still have to recover my mini mannequins

and I have a mini banner floating around in my head

with perhaps a linen flag to go with it for

show signage.

Let's see.....well my addiction

to wire wrapping continues.

The fact that I love making earrings doesn't help.

I rolled a bunch of these out last night

watching some TV with the hubster.

 

 

I like the ruffled ones!

They look like flowers.

I have to find the perfect accents for them.

I've been adding to my bead and pendant stash

but still have quite a lot on my "someday" list....

Tickle Me Tuesday 1/10/12

You know I'm in the Northeast and

although so far we have been spared the

20 feet of snow from last year the temps have

 turned way down!

 

 

I was excited to find these adorable hats from

 * Bound to be Creative on Etsy *

Owned by another Mama ( of 5!!!)

I had to give her a shout out.

Not only are these hats reasonably priced

THEY ARE REVERSABLE!!!

You get two hats for the price of one!

I asked Shelly for a few words about herself!

I love to sew and I love fabrics of all kinds.  I sew anything that makes me feel a little less cookie cutter in the real world.  I'm a stay-at-home mom to five great kids. I craft all different things from hats to pretty wool felt brooches to handmade books to reversible pants for my little guy, all of which I will be expanding upon in my shop.  I enjoy the pure pleasure of creating a project from start to finish. I began to create my own hat patterns because I couldn't find that "fit" for myself that set me apart from the rest.  Then it evolved into creating hats for my children.  I love being inspired by other artists, crafters and people that have a passion for what they are called to do.  I needed an expandable outlet for my creativity so here I am. Tickle Me Tuesday 9/27/11

 

 

Ok so lets' start with this picture of my quickie set up for my craft show this weekend.

See those girls in the corner?

I've been wanting to make them over for awhile.

Not that they aren't lovely on there own,

but they are very distracting to show jewelry on.

I want my jewelry to be the focus not my displays.

I've considered decoupage, paint, sand paper.

I ended up converted by another make over.

 

 

So in it's full glory here is the horror of

*The Black Velour Display*.

I think like many of us I bought a few of these

thinking it was the gold standard

for display. 

Obviously this was before realizing that

unless they are hermetically sealed,

they will always resemble an imploded

dust ball.  

Enter my old friend spray paint.

 

 

A bottom layer of craft paint

and 2 top layers of spray paint =

faux linen!

About $12.00 repainted about 8 displays

which I will show you later in the week all done.

I got to reuse my unusable displays and

bring my look together

quite afford-ably.

 

 

If I have time I may even paint a seam

 on my mini dress-forms.

So once again

* For everyone that asked this leaves a nubby texture like a heavey linen. It's not flaky at all and seems to bind right to the craft paint. It's actually smoother then it looks!*
