I have always loved chalk boards.
Recently I've discovered the art of
and now have a whole board on
Just for lettering, fonts and chalk boards.
I used to pour over calligraphy books
when I was younger copying the
gorgeous letters or
writing the same letter over and over.
I had purchased
2 easels for my craft booth to use as signage.
This of course meant I actually had to do
something with them!
I haven't drawn in a very long time
so had sat and stared at them for quite awhile.
Then it hit me!
Stencils!!!
Years ago before I had kids I
had started a small stenciling business.
Of course then I got pregnant and put on bed-rest
so the stencils got put away.
Luckily I didn't throw them out!
Stencils and one of these babies -
which I am guessing is a pastel pencil?
I love when things actually WORK!
I practically skipped around the house!!!
Now I need some crazy cool lettering.
I have a few free downloads from
If you haven't seen her in action
Dana Tanamachi
has got crazy chalk skills.
How impressive is that?
I have my banner all strung and ready to hang too.
Never realized how hard it is to photograph it all at once.
It matches my table clothes and displays perfectly!
Are you getting ready for show season?
Have you been working on displays?
Feel free to share!
Happy Wednesday, Patty

So Cool!! I love your improvising - looks awesome! There is something to be said for not throwing out any craft supplies - you never know when you'll use them again!!
I'm so in the mood to create, but first I have to get through next Tuesday when school is officially out for me - then I have a whole list of things I plan on making!
