One to One Computing Failures and Concerns

 

 

Hi my name is Patty Gasparino and I am very concerned about the movement to put computers in the hands of our youngest children.

 I believe children should learn as children and just because you can do something (or "everyone else is doing it") doesn't mean you should. Give my children a compass and a map before you give up and hand them a computer. I am not against technology - I use it every day myself  - but I don't think a 10 -11 year old needs to be tied - nor should be tied to a device.

Hi Patty, i couldn't agree more...Jack is 16 and is limited on the computer for homework and a little music videos but other than that he is so involved in sports and outdoor activity he can't be bothered anyway...you are an amazing person with a heart of gold and i respect you so much for what you are doing for children..thank-you friend

So much informations! I will comment before reading the articles because I don't want to postpone - People have to stop and think about it - if Google's managers send their children to a Waldorf school then there is something regular schools are misunderstanding!
