Can I tell you I've made an ass of myself twice this week. I got lost for an hour on my way to meet another blogger then I went Christmas shopping and forgot all my money at home! I had to just give it up to Jesus and walk out the door and come home after filling my cart. Forty-six isn't that old but I'm starting to wonder. So this totally made my day.
I am doubly blessed! The lovely Sarah from Yes Teacher Crafts AND the equally lovely Meeling from The Hairy Peach both gave me this award - I am supposed to post seven things about myself.
1. I'll laugh at pretty much anything - including myself. I've laughed a lot in the last couple of days. I cannot imagine how people handle life without a sense of humor.
2. I grew up an only child but discovered I had 2 step sisters in my 30's - surprise!
3. I spent my first year of college in an art school - it was horrible. I then left school for a year and went back for a degree in biology. My only regret is that I never went back for art : (.
4. I am a licensed veterinary technician.
5. I worked in a cytogenetics lab for 8 years looking in a microscope all day.
6. The most boring job I ever had was testing rats memories by teaching them to run a maze. Ironically this was possibly the nicest boss I ever had.
7. This is my new favorite blog - it made me laugh so hard I almost threw up - I might have a small crush on this cat. Thanks to Lori of Studio Waterstone for that one! You will find yourself talking like a Dominican cat - seriously - just go - it's addicting .
The Libe ob Don Estorbo de la Bodega Dominicana
If you guys would like to play along simply list your seven things down in the comments! I am going to try this whole shopping thing again - wish me luck.
Happy Thursday! Patty
My new blog friend - Estorbo de beeg blag cad ! ( photo used with permission of Estorbo's wooman - Marie Viljoen : ) ) Go and check him out.

Yahoo for you!! :-)
Kinda figured you had a sense of humor...you make me laugh a lot reading your blog. ;-)
I grew up as an only child too! (no sibling surprises though...not yet anyways)
Sounds like a "cheap" shopping trip yesterday!
Hope it goes better today...have a great Thursday!

Oh Patty, I was just happy that you were *finally* able to make it and we did meet! :) It was alot of fun, and I still want to go back to the bead store! I was in tears, falling out of my seat last night reading more of Don Estorbo....and TheHusband doesn't get it.
Huh, okay, 7 things....
1.) My BS is in Agricultural Economics and really useful in CT. (Not)
2.) I was planing on Vet School, until Science defeated me.
3.) I put myself through college working as a Vet Tech and Vet Receptionist.
4.) I'm the oldest of 4 kids.
5.) I'm addicted to trashy romance novels.
6.) I started riding horses at 6 years old, and that addiction continues.
7.) I haven't been on the back of a horse since I was pregnant 5 years ago.

Ha! that blog is hilarious!
1. I also laugh at myself and everything.
2. I am left handed
3. I did a year of university in england and the rest of my degree in canada
4. Working in high end shoe stores for almost six years (during school) made me incapable of buying shoes without being able to try them on for hours at a time and seeing them on other customers.
5. I whistle pretty much all the time
6. I love horror movies but I always have to watch them alone
7. I re-read books many many times, some of my books i've read well over 20 times (like A Fine Balance and The HandMaids Tale)

Oh Holly - well that explains why we have so much in common! I have a bachelors in Veterinary Technology - talk about useless! I rode too but haven't been on a horse since I was about 18. There's another thing I would do if I won the lotto - go horseback riding - although at this stage it would probably make me a cripple.
