Let's see.....well my addiction

to wire wrapping continues.

The fact that I love making earrings doesn't help.

I rolled a bunch of these out last night

watching some TV with the hubster.

 

 

I like the ruffled ones!

They look like flowers.

I have to find the perfect accents for them.

I've been adding to my bead and pendant stash

but still have quite a lot on my "someday" list....

Display Wars

 

 

So it's January and it's cold.....

and I'm stuck in the house staring and contemplating

rejuvenating my craft room and displays.

Actually I am always thinking about display.

....or maybe it's better to just come out and say I am obsessed!

I war about it in my brain.

 

 

I sell many things in person I haven't gotten around to put on line yet - these are very popular!

I am pretty happy with their display!

I sell jewelry out of my home one in awhile

and have run into a few

issues that bother me.

Firstly I HATE clutter -

although I love my inspiration boards

they are cluttery and I don't necessarily find them all that

 attractive to anyone but me.

 

 

So here's my new earring displays

which can also be put back to back.

Where's the bulletin boards?

Muwahahahahaha

 

 

Don't tell!

 

 

Looks a lot better then all that

 stuff hanging over everything.

I can easily pull the curtain back

just for me.

My next goal is to quiet the visual noise over here.

 

 

Love my books but this looks like a mess!

I have a table cloth I'm going to sew to fit

the bookshelves for a nice tailored look.

This way I have people concentrating on my jewelry

 and not Stringing Magazine!

 

 

I need a new banner too.

I'm thinking some linen would be more in line

with my current look or

maybe just different paper.

 

I dug up a few things from the attic

 I would like to redo.

Of course I still have a pile of jewelry to make!

Eeeeek! It's already Wednesday!!!

I picked up some fun labels and

$1.50 frames from Micheals -

I think these will be great for display.

Mondays ....

 

 

I had planned to show off my mini - update

but people bought some stuff!!!

So I'll have to divert to my kids humor

for filler.

 

 

My husband was nice enough to run out and

pick up two rotisserie chickens.

Of course with four boys the minute a

new food stuff enters the house

there is excitement.

 

 

One of my twins ran to the basement stairs

and yelled down to his brothers...

"HURRY UP -

 DADDY BROUGHT HOME DEAD CHICKENS WITH HONEY FLAVOR!!!!!"

uh?......ewwwwwww.....lol

Everyone pretty much stopped in their tracks.

Of course HE immediately sat down to his share of it!

 

 

It's survival of the fittest in the house....

or survival of those with the biggest mouth!

I've been concentrating on the house and making stuff

for a while - it's hard to keep up with everything.

Now we are talking about opening a restaurant,

*All Things Dead*.

Dead Tuna with a Dill Dressing

Dead Cow Hamburger

Dead Vegetable Salad

I think I just killed my own appetite.

This would work great for my resolution to loose

wieght!

Tickle Me Tuesday 1/10/12

You know I'm in the Northeast and

although so far we have been spared the

20 feet of snow from last year the temps have

 turned way down!

 

 

I was excited to find these adorable hats from

Owned by another Mama ( of 5!!!)

I had to give her a shout out.

Not only are these hats reasonably priced

THEY ARE REVERSABLE!!!

You get two hats for the price of one!

I asked Shelly for a few words about herself!

I love to sew and I love fabrics of all kinds.  I sew anything that makes me feel a little less cookie cutter in the real world.  I'm a stay-at-home mom to five great kids. I craft all different things from hats to pretty wool felt brooches to handmade books to reversible pants for my little guy, all of which I will be expanding upon in my shop.  I enjoy the pure pleasure of creating a project from start to finish. I began to create my own hat patterns because I couldn't find that "fit" for myself that set me apart from the rest.  Then it evolved into creating hats for my children.  I love being inspired by other artists, crafters and people that have a passion for what they are called to do.  I needed an expandable outlet for my creativity so here I am. Opinions ... Everyone Has Them

 

 

Ok so who doesn't love giving their opinion?

A friend of mine got me hooked on an on-line

marketing company that trades you points

and gift cards for it.

We take it pretty seriously.

Don't mess with our points!

 

 

So imagine my glee upon opening an email that I had the opportunity for a whole 1,000 points!!!

All I had to do was watch a TV show live from beginning to end!

*Easy Peasy*

They usually ask about characters and whether scenes are believable and do you want to know more or less about something.

 

 

My time came - unfortunately it came at 10:00 at night.

I was tired but armed with some coffee I was determined to watch the show, live from beginning to end as directed!

I concentrated on the characters, who was eating cow and who was eating moose.

I concentrated on who moved their outhouse.

...who was prepared for winter

...who wasn't.

 

 

The TV and I were one for that hour.

Well actually I was REALLY tired.

SO my compromise was to watch the show

and close my eyes during the commercials.

I thought this would be win-win -

I would watch the show in it's entirety

AND have an opinion AND

take a quick nap AND

get my 1,000 points

 - it could all work.

*multitasking*

 

 

When the show ended I waited the obligatory

5 minutes then checked my in box

for my survey.

First question?

"Did you watch the appointed show live and uninterrupted?"

Pffft this was going to be EASY!!!

Second question....

"Please list all THE COMMERCIALS YOU SAW!"

huh?

Well you can imagine where this went.

I had to admit I slept through most of the commercials concentrating on the stupid show!

Usually they ask your opinion of the show.

In my stupor all I could remember were two

commercials and one was for office supplies.

I then proceeded to answer about 30 questions about office supply buying : ( .

I felt like the kid on A Christmas Story when he

discovers his Orphan Annie decoder is really just an

advertising ploy.

I am sure there is a lesson in there somewhere but I'm too pooped to figure it out!

What's Going on Around Here

 

 

I've gotten to play a bit.

It's been unseasonably warm

so this is the first year since we've been here

I am in my craft room in December!

Fifties is shorts weather here in the Northeast!
